heres Magazine is a media publication celebrating Londoness through culture, identity and style.

 

We offer an online and print platform for all Londoners to define who they are and how they connect to their surrounding communities rich in heritage.  By capturing the multiple layers of identity in London, one of the most diverse cities in the world, heres seeks to unravel the cultural richness it has to offer and answer the existential question: where do we belong?

 

Amira Hasan
Editor in Chief

Amira Hasan, a British Asian Londoner born and bred, has a creative background in design and writing. Her work has been published on platforms such as AMALIAH.COM, The Mighty Site, Digital CLR and exhibited work at Kreativ House. Self taught on all counts; she has worked for luxury interior companies, architectural firms GRIMSHAW and EPR as well as a writer for a campaign in Parliament led by The Hon Baroness Uddin. Currently, Amira is the Founder and Editor in Chief of heres Magazine and in-house writer for not-for-profit organisation School of Bop.

Donae Gordon
Assistant editor

I have a passion for creative arts; it comes in numerous shapes and sizes and can be both digital and physical. It's creativity that draws me towards art and its limitless capabilities. At heres Magazine there is more to heritage than an inheritance, culture is more than just a statement and identity is more than the roots that run its course. It is all about connection and creativity. As Assistant Editor, it's an honour to be a part of a team which pride themselves in portraying all of the above.

Emily Almodovar
Photographer

Emily is a freelance photographer, born and bred in London. Specialising in portraiture and fashion, her works detail enhances and encapsulates colours and emotions in each photo. Being of British and Filipino heritage, Emily aims to provide an honest representation for other people of mixed heritage through her imagery. Emily has contributed numerous images to heres Magazine’s first issue: Styling Heritage and mini project ‘Styling Heritage At Home.’

Pratibha Gurung

Pratibha is a fashion and documentary Photographer from Nepal, based in London. “Sometimes we forget our cultural identity and get lost about who we are and where we come from. So, for me being part of heres Magazine is a journey of exploring and finding that path again.”

Fikria Abdelrahim
Graphic design intern

Fikria is a Zimbabwean Egyptian creative based in London. She has recently graduated from Solent University with a BA(Hons) in Graphic Design and a passion for all things creative. She has interned with design studio Filthy Media after creating a successful branding project for them during her time at university. Fikria has a passion for human rights combined with design and has spent the last 3 summers working as a fundraiser for Amnesty International. Her work is inspired by both her experiences and heritage.

Katie Berry
Social media Assistant

Graduating from the University of East London with an urban dance degree, Katie has a strong passion for the creative arts and anything that involves self-expression. Believing that diversity and inclusion is the root of all creativity, she strives to influence people to learn more about their identity, their heritage and who they are with heres Magazine as their social media assistant.
